The Home Childcare Approval Scheme is accessible to home childcarers working in Northern Ireland, which enables employers to access the available financial assistance for nanny employers.  The Home Childcarer Approval Scheme is administered by local Health and Social Care Trusts (HSCTs).

Requirements for nannies to register

Nannies must:

  1. be aged 18 or over
  2. have a relevant childcare qualification or have attended an appropriate induction course;
  3. have first-aid training;
  4. agree to an enhanced criminal records check which will include a check of the barred lists held by any jurisdiction in the UK and a check of Social Services records.

You will be called to a verification interview with an Early Years social worker, and will need to provide proof of identity and your training certificates.
